Parent drop off and pick up:
The first days are always the worst and hardest days for pick up and drop off. It will get better as we learn the names and cars. Ultimately, it is all about student safety! Please drive as if the child crossing the street or getting in/out of the car is your own!
- AM drop off begins at 7:10 am. Students may not be left unattended at school before this time. If you wait to arrive after about 7:25 am, you should expect to have to wait in line to drop off.
- Please drop off once anywhere along the curb, not just in front of the doors so more cars can unload at one time.
- PM pick up begins at 2:40 pm. If you have multiple students to pick up, they should all gather with the youngest child at his/her pick up spot.
- Kinder and 1st grade students are picked up in the front drive way facing the library and Crystal Lake Dr. using a single file line.
- 2nd-5th grade students are picked up in the side driveway off of Cromwell Marine Creek Rd. using a double line (watch the teacher at the curve for your line direction).
- Parents must stay in their car in line in order to do parent pick up. If you park and get out, you will will be sent to get back in the car line.
- Please place your paper with your child's name (received at Meet the Teacher) in the passenger or front window so we can identify you quickly.
- Please move the booster seat for the child being picked up to back seat, right side so we can load kids from the curb if at all possible. (State law requires boosters for kids under age 8 and recommends any child under 4 ' 9" be in a booster seat, regardless of age) https://www.dps.texas.gov/director_staff/public_information/occSafetyPrgmFAQs.htm
- Cell phones may not be used while driving on school property. This is a state law.
From the Nurse:
We have several students with peanut allergies this year. Because of this, we have gone peanut-free in the classrooms for snacks. Please be sure anything you send for snack is peanut free. (Made in a peanut facility is ok, but it cannot contain peanuts or peanut butter.) At lunch, we offer an allergy table to protect anyone with severe food allergies. If your child has allergies (or any other health concerns) please be sure you have communicated these with our nurse, Mrs. Brandye Adams.
Upcoming Events
Curriculum Nights are offered in each grade level and are an important event to attend each year. Your child's teacher will share specific content that will be covered in each content area, strategies you can use at home to support classroom instruction, homework expectations and how much help parents can provide, and more! Each one will be offered twice for your convenience (6:00 and 6:45 will be the same information!)
